Spa Town Merano

Meraner Höhenweg

The Meraner Höhenweg is a popular hiking trail around the Texelgruppe near Merano in South Tyrol. In approx. 1,400 m it leads from the Schnals valley into the Pfossen valley, then over the Eisjöchl (2,895 m) in the Pfelderer valey and via Passeier valley and the basin of Merano back to the origin.

Five to six stages are normally needed to complete the full trail with overnight stays in the mountain huts along the way. But it is also possible to make only parts of the hiking path since there are cable cars from several villages in the valleys that take you to or from the trail.

Val Gardena

Val Gardena is one of the valleys in South Tyrol where ladinian is spoken. It branches off the Eisack valley between Brixen and Bolzano and leads directly into the wonderful mountain landscape of the dolomites.

The landscape of Val Gardena is mainly dominated from the mighty Langkofel and the Sellagruppe. The main villages are S. Cristina, Ortisei and Selva Gardena at the end of the valley.

The valley itself and the surrounding dolomites offer numerous hiking possibilities of all difficulty levels ranging from easy trails through the valley and alpine pasture hikes up to demanding via ferrata.

And in winter Val Gardena is a very popular skiing area. But the snow covered landscape invites also to practice cross country skiing hiking or skating.
